Columbia -
On September 1, Tim Rice will officially begin his duties as the newest addition to the Missions Mobilization Group, SC Baptist Convention. Rice comes to the convention from Charleston Outreach, where he served as a special ministries consultant for ten years.
As a mobilization strategist at SCBC, Rice’s main responsibility will be to help churches and associations develop intentional Acts 1:8 strategies. His specialties are working with North American missions, SC Connection, and chaplaincy.
“In Charleston, we were always receiving missions volunteers, so I am excited about the opportunity to send volunteers out to the fields,” Rice said.
Rice is also a North American Mission Board missionary, who grew up on the mission field in Venezuela. Because a good portion of his childhood was spent in Venezuela, he is fluent in Spanish, a quality that Debbie McDowell, Missions Mobilization Group director, said is definitely an asset.
On Wednesday, August 27, the Missions Mobilization Group presented Rice with an plaque for appreciation for his 10 years of service with Charleston Outreach.
“I’m excited about joining the team that’s already in place here, and I’m looking forward to helping Kingdom Growth,” Rice said.
