Columbia -
On October 1-3, Intensive Church Planters Training (ICPT), formerly known as Basic Training, will be held at White Oak Conference Center.
ICPT is the initial training for church planters in South Carolina, and focuses on leading attendees (church planters and their teams) to answer five important questions. Those questions are: who am I, what am I called to do, who will do it with me, how will we do it and how do we evaluate our progress.
“The intended outcome of the three day training event is for planters to answer questions about getting started, and have momentum to move the church to be what God wants it to be,” Dino Senesi, Church Multiplication Group director, SC Baptist Convention, said.
As an experiential event, ICPT will offer interactive and group work to help answer a church planter’s questions about getting started. The material used for ICPT is designed with a post modern perspective which allows attendees to learn by experience rather than lecture. Chris Ruppe of Rock Hill, Andre Rogers and John Sharp, both from Columbia, are the presenters for this ICPT session.
“The goal of church planting is to see the transformation of communities and lives,” Senesi said. “Therefore, training and coaching are critical.”
ICPT is open to any church planter, their teams, and spouses because the training is most effective when all members of a church planting team attend. The event is also open to anyone interested in or considering church planting.
The cost per person is $25, and includes a pre-training workbook. Registration is available by calling Michelle Harter, Church Multiplication Group assistant, at (800) 723-7242, extension 5800, or online at www.scbaptist.org.
