Columbia, SC -

Members of the First Church Springfield Woman’s Missionary Union created personalized t-shirts to send to missionaries serving in Nebraska.  Missionaries Ron and Alpha Goomlie work with American Indians, and expressed a need for colorful t-shirts to give to some of the children.

“The satisfaction that our group of ladies had in meeting the needs of these missionaries was very rewarding.  Out of this project we have formed a missions project group to fill other needs,” said Julia Furtick, church WMU director.

The Goomlies shared another missions need with the WMU group.  The children did not want to cut socks to make sock puppets during a recent craft time, because they had no socks to wear and wanted to keep them.  The WMU group from First Church Springfield plans to send socks to the Goomlies for a future missions project.
