Called Convention set for April 26
A special called Convention of the SC Baptist Convention will be held April 26 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Boulevard, Irmo, S.C.
Messengers to the Convention will vote on the recent Executive Board’s nomination of Dr. James Austin to the position of Executive Director-Treasurer.
The position is vacant after Dr. Carlisle Driggers retired in February after fifteen years in the post. Driggers has remained in an emeritus position until messengers can vote on Dr. Austin’s nomination.
Convention messengers are appointed by their individual churches.
Messenger registration will open at 11 a.m. at the church. The Convention will begin at 1 p.m.
If elected, a reception for Dr. Austin and his family will follow at the church.
