"SC Baptists: A Witness to the World" is the new partnership initiative that begins in 2010 and focuses on 10 Kingdom connecting points - 3 in SC, 3 in North America and 4 international connections. God has a place for you to be involved as you live out the Great Commission. What people group has God put on your heart and what gifts & passions has He given you to use for Kingdom impact? Prayerfully read the information on our ten Kingdom connection focus areas for 2010. From South Carolina, we can impact the world for eternity as we serve on our daily mission fields and beyond. Go in His power!
South Carolina
Mission partnership opportunities in South Carolina are as close as your local school, apartment complex or neighborhood. You don't have to leave your community to be a missionary. Consider these areas for your hands-on missions partnership and as part of your strategy for global people group adoption.
- Faith/School Partnerships - In every part of SC there are schools where your church could make a difference. Pray about a school where you could serve, then go and meet the principal. Find out the areas of greatest need and make a plan to serve that school.
- Multihousing Ministry - Pray about ways your church could embrace a nearby mobile home community, an apartment complex or condominiums. Effective outreach might include a Bible study, recreational activity or an after school program. Whatever you do, communicate clearly with management and get their permission before you start.
- Internationals - God is bringing business professionals, doctors, students and factory workers to SC from all over the world! How will your church respond to multi-ethnic people in your community? Will you help start a new church? Will you teach English as a second language?
Pray about starting a mission partnership this year in South Carolina.
North America: Atlanta
Atlanta is home of the Braves, the Falcons, Stone Mountain, Six Flags, Georgia Aquarium and also the home of new, upgraded, remodeled
homes, apartments and condos. Atlanta, inside I-285, is also the home of new people - a diversity of people. The sad news is in Atlanta over 500,000 people have no religious affiliation, over 600,000 people are not church members and over 700,000 people do not attend any form of worship or Bible study during a given week!
The Atlanta Metro Baptist Association and the Atlanta Association of Southern Baptists invite SC Baptists to participate with our Urban Atlanta Church Planting effort. Join us as we try to reach the people living inside the perimeter for Christ through praying for lost and unchurched people on a daily basis, engaging unreached people in small groups, sharing the good news and the truth of Scripture in every way possible and by conducting intentionally evangelistic events. We will also follow up and assimilate new believers into Bible study and worship and develop new followers of Jesus.
How can you become involved?
- Select a church plant or potential church plant area and pray daily for the plant or soon-to-be plant.
- On your trips to Atlanta, spend one hour prayerwalking a church plant neighborhood or prospective church plan neighborhood.
- Send a team to Atlanta to assist a church planter with a project.
- Send a team to Atlanta during June or July 2010 to help conduct evangelistic events - block parties, sports clinics, backyard Bible clubs, etc.
North America: Nova Scotia
If you want to know what ministry in SC will be like in 20 years, come to Nova Scotia today. A postmodern culture that sees little revelence in the church, Nova Scotia is in desperate need of Bible-based, evangelistic churches. By 2020, the Canadian National Baptist Convention has a goal to see 50 healthy, cooperating, reproducing churches among the one million people of Nova Scotia (there are currently 7).
Volunteers are needed to partner in a wide variety of outreach activities to reach Nova Scotians with the Gospel. Block parties, children's ministries, servant evangelism, campus ministries, prayerwalking, leadership training, pastor and wives retreats, and long-term volunteers are just some of the many ways used to reach out in this area.
Pray about how you and your church can be a part of this critical evangelistic enterprise.
North America: Ohio
A state with much to offer - five major city centers, amusement parks from one end to the other with more roller coasters than one can imagine, multiple cultures and cuisines, covered bridges, and lake and water fun - to name a few of the things to do here. At the same time, it is a people of over 11.5 million, many who do not have a personal relationships with Jesus Christ.
A place with so much to do, so many to reach and so little time. Will you go and help? Baptists in Ohio are driven to reach people for Christ. They seek to do this through starting and strengthening churches across the state. They need SC Baptists who will come alongside to help. Come tell the story of the love of God! Come demonstrate the love of God! Come experience the love of God!
Help is needed in the Appalachian region of Ohio and the Toledo area located in the northwestern part of Ohio. Volunteers are need in a wide-range of ministries.
International: London, England
London Strategy Church Training Team - September 4-11. Through the London Borough Partnership, the desire is to share the Gospel with the entire city of London in relevant ways that results in reproducible and multiplying forms of church. The London Team has developed a strategy to do this that is both wise and practical. The London Team will guide you through a process of selecting and adopting a geographic area, known as a borough, that is right for your church. The Team will ask you to identify three people from your congregation that will take on and own specific jobs or roles. They will then train these individuals and help them become effective. It is believed that this strategy is wise because it greatly increases the number of witnesses in the city, has been proven effective, is based on years of experience living in London and multiples our presence in the city.
Each church or association that participates in this training in London should bring three or four people that will fill the following roles in a ongoing strategy: Borough Strategist, Travel Coordinator and Prayer Coordinator. During the time in London, you will particiate in partnership training and then spend time prayerwalking, researching and mapping the borough that God has led you to adopt. Approximate Costs: $150 per day plus airfare.
International: Peru

(high altitude area) Travel to different villages each day presenting the Gospel in the afternoon and inviting people to see "The Hope" movie in the evenings. Lodging will be in a hostel and hotel.
