Michigan Flood Recovery

 In Disaster Relief

Recruit a team for a mission trip to be a part of bringing help, healing, and hope to southeastern Michigan (Detriot area).

  • Help – Individuals and teams are needed to help in a community where 129,000 homes were flooded in a largely unnoticed event in 2014.
  • Healing – God is opening doors of ministry for Southern Baptists to bring healing to communities where SBC church planters are working.
  • Hope – Bring hope by repairing homes, listening to their stories, sharing your faith.

Church groups can participate even if they do not have the formal Disaster Relief training that is typically required to respond immediately after a disaster occcurs, according to North American Mission Board leaders. They will take any church group willing to come from wherever they are across the country to help families repair and rebuild their homes. All a team needs is a willingness to serve and a couple of team members who understand basic construction skills.

Trained Disaster Relief (DR) mudout teams are also needed. To learn more about the Southeast Michigan Rebuild project, including types of work needed, housing arrangements for teams, and more, CLICK HERE.
