Hunger is painful! Most parents know what it is like to hear the kids say, "I'm hungry." They can sound so pitiful. The truth is neither we, nor our children have ever been really hungry without knowing where the next meal is coming from.
The World Hunger Offering is so important, now more than ever! We see how effective our World Hunger ministries really are in our state. On a local level, with 25% of state offerings being used right here in South Carolina, our churches and associations are doing a fantastic job meeting physical and spiritual needs within the state.
We have a problem...a good problem, but nevertheless a problem. Each month we receive many requests for assistance for food pantries and other hunger related ministries. We have been able to meet these requests. We are also receiving many new requests for assistance. We can use only what we receive; therefore, we must either increase our offerings or reduce the amount given per request.
We need your help!! Give to the World Hunger Offering. Promote the offering in your church. And remember, every penny given feeds someone!
Sunday, October 12, is the day Southern Baptists will focus on the problem of world hunger and what they can do to make a difference, but offerings can be taken any time during the year. All donations given through the South Carolina Baptist World Hunger Relief Offering are used to alleviate hunger. No salaries, ads or delivery costs are paid out of the fund. Your donation is divided in three ways:

50% goes to relief ministries of the International Mission Board.

25% goes to relief ministries of the North American Mission Board.

25% goes to relief ministries of SC Baptist churches and associations.
