Often the phrase South Carolina Baptist Convention is used to mean different things. 

• At times one is referencing the 2070 plus churches - each autonmous.
• Other times someone is referring to the convention building and the staff that works out of the building in Columbia -which is under the direction of the Executive Board whose members are elected annually by the messengers of the churches. 
• And still other times, the reference is all of the above (the staff, churches, and institutions).

It is important to note that each of the institutions has their own board giving direction and responsible for the ministry of that institution.  The Baptists of South Carolina are proud of the ministries begun many years ago that are still impacting lives.  From the children to university students to the aged adults, Baptists care.  To learn more about each of the institutions, a link has been provided.
