For as long as I can remember, "Irene" has been taking care of other people. Years ago, it was children and now she takes are of the elderly. She does so with grace adn patience, but most importantly, with love. This past year has been harder because of her health, but her passion keeps her faithful.
She didn't show up this past month. I didn't think much about it because the time for Brown Bag Pick-Up had been changed. Maybe she had forgotten. A week passed by and surprisingly, I hadn't heard from her.
We found out that surgery and bed rest kept her from coming. Praise God that "whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." You see, she's not a Brown Bag recipient. She just comes to pick up groceries for 7 "senior couples" and delivers the groceries to their homes.
God says that if we take care of His people, He will take care of us. While she was unable to work, finances were limited. The Food Bank was able to bless ehr with groceries until she could get back on her feet. She was pleasantly surprised and shared that it was unexpected. We were able to minister ot her and remind her of God's Promises. Without preaching to her, we told her the story in Acts 12 of when Peter was freed from prison. We encouraged her to pray expecting and assured her that God is faithful.
