In 1998, Mike Thompson was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, an incurable disease in which the immune system attacks the nervous system.  For many, MS is a disease which leads to disability, depression, and a lack of hope about life.  Mike's approach to MS is that God has a plan and offers hope to everyone, regardless of life's unexpected twists.  Mike openly shares his story of hope with churches and brings encouragement to many who are sitting in the pews wondering, "Where is the hope that God offers?"

Mike graduated from North Greenville University and received a Masters in Ministry with an emphasis on Leadership from Rockbridge Seminary.  Mike started in full time ministry in 1994 as a youth minister at Forestville Church in Greenville, SC, and later served as the associate pastor of education and missions at the same church.  After seven years at Forestville, Mike went on to be the senior pastor at First Baptist in Eutawville, SC where he served for the next six years.  Presently Mike is working to assist a church plant, Trinity Point Church in Easley, SC with small groups.  He has preached at various churches, the SC Baptist Evangelism Conference, and has written a book entitled Dealing with the Diagnosis in which Mike openly shares his story of hope in the midst of the storms of life.

Mike has a unique ability to share the teaching of Scripture in a clearly understandable and practical way.  Mike also opens up his life and shares often humorous stories about dealing with the unexpected events in life.  This approach has encouraged many to live a life of hope and share that hope with others.
