“C. S. Lewis once said, ‘You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you.’ On December 19, 2003, my values were put to such a test and they failed miserably.”
Debbie Turner is an engaging speaker, Bible teacher, and the author of two soul-stirring books: Trees Wear Glasses, Don’t They, A Call to Faith and Whispered Thunder, Living Within the Sound of God’s Voice. Although raised in a Christian home and saved by grace at the age of twelve, Debbie later abandoned her faith; choosing instead to compete in the race to win worldly approval. As a successful small business owner and community leader, she thought she was winning. It was only when heartbreaking tragedy intervened that she discovered the prize she had been chasing was only an illusion.
No earthly treasure provided an ounce of comfort the night Debbie’s beloved, twenty-one year old son chose to commit suicide. Everything she had trusted to save her and protect her family had failed. When God reached into her broken life and knit her heart together again with His love, He transformed her into a woman completely captured by His grace and launched her into a powerful speaking and writing ministry.
Debbie’s enthusiasm and passion for the Lord saturate every part of her life. Whether speaking before a congregation, women’s ministry, youth group or even a professional board meeting, God is using her mightily to share truth, encouragement and liberation with many still held captive by the lies of the enemy.
Debbie’s transparency, humility, and warmth enable her to connect well with people of all ages, races, and genders. Her messages are always evangelical and focused upon sharing the wonder of living in intimate fellowship with the Lord.
