NOVA TRAINING CLASSES OFFERED IN MAY
South Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief (SCDR) will be hosting a National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) Crisis Counseling Basic Training the week of May 5th - 9th, 2008 at McCall Royal Ambassador Camp in Sunset, South Carolina. Basic training will begin on the 5th and run through the 9th.
This is a big commitment for each participant. For Basic training you will have to invest your time (40 hours) beginning Monday morning May 5th at 10:30 a.m. until Friday, May 9th at 3:30 p.m.
South Carolina Disaster Relief is hosting this event at McCall royal Ambassador Camp to keep the cost down. You will be in a relaxed environment in a rustic setting with few outside interruptions. The camp cooks will prepare the meals and housing will be in the cabins.
The cost for this event will be $250.00 for Basic training per person which covers meals, lodging, and notebook. South Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief is investing over $4,000.00 to fund this training. Participants come from every professional area in
South Carolina .

This training will prepare you to be called on to respond to a catastrophic crisis such as school shootings, plane crashes, or other multiple death crises. South Carolina has sent four disaster chaplain teams to
New York after the 9/11 event.
