75th Anniversary of the Cooperative Program - Resolution 2000

75th Anniversary of the Cooperative Program

WHEREAS, Evangelism, missions and disciple-making stand at the center of our faith as Southern Baptists; and,

WHEREAS, The 21st Century presents an acute need for missions and evangelism, presenting the Gospel to all people in all places; and

WHEREAS, Since 1925, the Cooperative Program has allowed churches to pool resources in a unified effort, connecting all Southern Baptists to a worldwide challenge of Kingdom importance; and

WHEREAS, A 1999 Resolution of the 179th annual meeting of the South Carolina Baptist Convention called on its members to pray for missions; volunteer for mission opportunities; and, to be faithful in gifts to missions through the Cooperative Program; and

WHEREAS, In the year 2000, South Carolina Baptists have celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Cooperative Program through a national emphasis, Partners in the Harvest; and

WHEREAS, A part of the Anniversary celebration includes a Southern Baptist Convention goal of $750 million for 2001 budget year; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That South Carolina Baptist churches prayerfully consider, as part of the Cooperative Program Anniversary, an increase in Cooperative Program giving during the 2001 accounting year; and be it finally

RESOLVED, That South Carolina Baptists continue their prayer and support for missions work around the world.
