10 Ways You Can Partner With a New Church
Top 10 Ways You Can Partner with a New Church
- Financial Resources
Funds for a new church require multiple partners and funding streams. You may have an individual who would love to contribute toward a new church in addition to your own congregation. In many communities, jobs are need for planters and planting team members. Do you have businessmen or supervisors who are in charge of hiring? Church planting provides an avenue of investing in evangelism, missions, and Kingdom growth.
- Facilities
A valuable resource for a new church is a place to worship. Another need of a new church that has leased Sunday facility is access to a church for team meetings, staff meetings, Bible studies, training, and fellowship during the week.
- Materials/Office
Pre-owned, high quality, equipment is a tremendous asset to a new church. Sound, computer, and office equipment are in high demand. Your copying machine, paper cutter, and hole puncher for an afternoon can also be manna from heaven for a new church.
- Strategic Intercessory Prayer
Church planting is spiritual warfare. One of the greatest gifts you can give a new church, their pastor and his family is intentional, intercessory prayer. Establish clear ways of communicating so prayer can be specific and with insight. Prayer walking the target areas of a new church can teach your people how to prayer walk and release the power of God upon the efforts of a new church!
- Servant Evangelism
Help a new church share the love of Christ in practical ways. Ways can include soft drink, light bulb, and newspaper give aways. Have your people donate giveaways a month before the big event. Then have them join the new church to share the love of Christ. Teach your people, at the same time, a creative way they could share the love of Christ with their community!
- Minister to a Planter
A church planter in the beginning stages has few people for fellowship. Invite him to lunch. Take an interest in his work. Invite him to preach at your church. Have your church minister to him and his family during Christmas.
- $37.00 Mission Trip
Would people in your church take 100 envelopes, addresses, and letters to complete and first class stamp at their own expense? Would they then be willing to pray for the 100 homes for the following 30 days? You can help a planter touch 1000’s of homes for the cost a paper and stationary for him.
- Phone Survey
In certain places phone surveys can be effective. Would ladies from your congregation be willing to make 10 calls into the community to search for prospects for a new church?
- Door to Door Survey
Would you send a team to help a planter survey or deliver flyers in a neighborhood?
- Raise the Church Planting IQ
Volunteers are essential to a comprehensive, God-initiated church planting movement. You have people in your congregation who could plant house churches in multi-housing communities or trailer parks. Maybe others could help a new church with childcare or music needs. Help them understand the potential new churches have to reach people for Jesus Christ.
