More than 100 students from Missouri, Texas, Georgia and Mississippi visited the area this week to assist seven church plants, including Hub City Church in Spartanburg and Threshold Church in Boiling Springs.
About 20 students from Lufkin, Texas, assisted Threshold Church by taking surveys, holding Backyard Bible clubs and going door to door to distribute information about the new church. The groups did so through PowerPlant, a student missions initiative of the Southern Baptist Convention's North American Mission Board.
"Our tagline is engaging students in church planting and evangelism," said Chad Hall, communications specialist with PowerPlant.
