Why should we not display fantasy characters in the preschool and children's areas of our church?
Preschoolers and young children are not yet able to distinguish between what is make-believe and what is real. Everything the child sees and hears at church should be true, so that the child is never confused about which parts are real and which are not. Cartoon characters, animals or vegetables with human qualities, and action heroes should not be mixed in with the teaching methods and visual aids used at church to communicate the truths of God’s love and His plan for children’s lives.
