What are resources we can use for discipling children?

Just as important as leading a child to make a profession of faith is the process of effectively discipling a new believer.  Valuable resources are available to assist children’s leaders.

  • I’m a Christian Now is an excellent study to help children build a strong foundation and develop important disciplines such as Bible study, prayer and scripture memorization.

  • TeamKID is a discipleship club for children in grades 1-6.  This fun, high energy curriculum encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him.  TeamKID combines recreation activities, creative Bible story presentations, Bible verse memorization, and application to life. It is designed so that children learn biblical principles and develop skills that will help them make wise decisions in life.

  • FUNdamentals is a series of undated, short-term Bible study resources for children in grades 1-6.  The topics vary from “Character Choices” to “Missions,” but each study helps children grow in their walk with God.  FUNdamental courses are designed to focus on one of the following areas:  living a Godly life, learning His word, and leading the next generation of believers.

  • Bible Skills, Drills and Thrills helps children develop important Bible skills.   This curriculum is available for grades 1-3 and grades 4-6.  Children gain confidence in the use of their Bible as they learn to quickly locate Bible books and key passages.  As children memorize verses, they increase their understanding of essential Bible truths.  This curriculum can be used to prepare 4th – 6th graders for the Church, Associational, and State Bible Drills held each spring.

The Christian life is not a one-time event but a pilgrimage.  As children’s leaders we must commit ourselves to accompanying the children on their journey of faith and use the best resources available to successfully disciple these new believers.
