How do you teach a child who is a "visual learner"?

This child has an ability to use their imagination to “see,” and may have well-developed observation skills. They enjoy pictures, maps, and creating through art. Teachers can encourage learning by:

  • Making activities visually appealing
  • Telling stories that appeal to the senses
  • Providing books with large illustrations
  • Using teaching pictures and (for school-age children) maps
  • Minimizing visual clutter
