Why attend a workshop dealing with child protection? Scripture says, “guard what has been entrusted to your care,” 1 Tim. 6:20. We are all very aware and appalled at the child sexual abuse allegations coming out of Penn State. Nationwide statistics tell us that over 800,000 children go missing annually. This reminds us that there is evil in the world, and it can come to your church. We must be ready, taking the offense rather than the defense when it comes to reducing the risk of child abuse.
