RECREATION ADVENTURE CAMPS

Recreation Adventure Camps are designed to introduce young men 14 years of age and older to the outdoor world through flat-water kayaking and rock climbing/rappelling.  The Recreation Adventure program consists of five (5) days and four (4) nights.  

Flat-Water Kayaking

This track will teach paddling skills and safety procedures as well as low-impact camping during a 5-day, 4-night trip on Lake Jocassee. Sites visited during this trip may include Laurel Fork Falls or Keowee-Toxaway. Basic kayaking skills and safety are taught on location in and around Lake Chilly Water.  All gear is furnished by Camp McCall.

Rock Climbing/Rappelling

In this track, trained staff will teach campers the dynamics of rock climbing and rappelling. Instruction will begin with a beginner ground school in camp and then progress to actual rock faces. Common rock faces climbed during this track include Crowder's Mountain, Linville Gorge, and Looking Glass, which provide climbing routes for all skill levels. This track includes at least one overnight trip. All gear is furnished by Camp McCall.

Check-in:  9:00 a.m.  - 12:00 noon on the first day of camp.
Check-out:  Camps will end at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. 

Cost is $250.00 per camper.
