BCMissionary Update: Italy

Three of our BCM students are serving in different places in Italy this summer. One is assisting a pastor of a six-month-old church-plant establishing a youth ministry by hosting an English camp for youth two days a week in the church building. During the camp participants will be taught English and the gospel. This student is also helping develop Sunday school material for young children, working with evangelism teams and spending time with the pastor’s children, who she reports have become close to her heart. The student asks for you to pray that God would give opportunities to meet with young people, for them to attend English camp, and for God to continue breaking down the language barrier. Another student is also teaching an English camp. Although this student reports being out of their comfort zone because of the language barrier, she is learning that this language barrier does not intercept God’s plan, and is excited that the group is able to express love as a universal language to pour out the love of Christ. The last student is working in a church office with a missions partner doing inventory, cleaning church offices, leading worship, singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday school and children’s church on Sundays. One day a week she also helps with an English class offered for adults in the community. She reports that they have been able to meet many people from over 30 nations.
