South Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief (SCDR) currently has over 5,500 actively trained volunteers and is supported by 141 units. Disaster Relief ministry is for anyone 18-years-old or older who is willing to give of their time and energy to help others during times of crisis. Training is required to go on a deployment with any SCDR team.

Come to one (or all) of the regional training events to learn how to respond in the following areas: Assessment, Chainsaw, Children's Response, Communications, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Feeding, Medical, Mud-Out/Ash-Out, and Shower/Laundry. Click HERE to view class descriptions.

COST:
$35 for Returning Volunteers
$40 for New Volunteers
Cost includes all training materials and lunch.

NOTE: Mail-in registrations must be postmarked no later than two (2) weeks before each training.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS:
• Registrations are transferable.
• Full refunds will be given if cancellation is received 30 days prior to the event.
• Consideration for partial refunds will be given in cases of illness (doctor's note needed) or a death in the family.

    * Refresher Courses are for returning volunteers who have already trained in that discipline.
  ** Both classroom and lab are required for Chainsaw and Feeding.
*** Numbered sessions (Children's Response 1 & 2) require attendance at all sessions to receive complete credit.

BACKGROUND SCREENINGS are now required for ALL SCDR Volunteers. All NEW volunteers AND any RETURNING volunteers who haven't completed a form with us since Fall 2011 need to complete a Background Screening form (included in your registration packet). Favorable background screenings are valid for three (3) years.

NOTE: The Disaster Relief store only accepts cash or checks. It is not set up for credit or debit card purchases.
